BSO Payroll Officer Band 3
Job description
The Payroll Service Centre (PSC) provides a range of payroll, pension and travel functions across the Health & Social Care organisations on behalf of the Business Services Organisation (BSO). The postholder will participate in the provision of the full range of Payrolling activities for the HSC ensuring responsive and high-quality services at all times. This will include operating and inputting in the HR, Payroll and Travel system to ensure that payroll activity is accurate and progressing in a timely manner, identifying any delays or blockages and advising management of any issues arising.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with online and telephone queries and escalate to management, if appropriate.
- To take responsibility for his/her own performance and take action to address identified personal development areas.
- Input, process, monitor and validate information effectively in a timely manner ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Five GCSE’s (including GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths (Grades A - C) OR equivalent qualification to demonstrate literacy and numeracy OR Higher Qualification OR 18 Months relevant experience (for example; Payroll; Finance; Human Resource)
- One year’s experience working with Microsoft Office or similar.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in the use of a computerised Payroll system
