Peripatetic Project Worker

An opportunity has arisen for a Peripatetic Project Worker to support residents across our Supported Housing services in the South Eastern Trust Area. The role will support people with mental health needs to build confidence, develop independent living skills and take positive steps towards more independent community living where appropriate. Responsibilities

  • Develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive & empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to & help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support Service Users to manage their Mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of Service Users in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by them.
  • Implement & adhere to Inspire Mental Health’s Journey Procedures, involving Service Users at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis across Supported Housing Services. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, long day shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or waking night cover as required to meet the needs.
  • Possess a full current driving licence and access to a car. Business Insurance is required. Alternative travelling arrangements will be considered for applicants with a disability who cannot hold a driving licence.
  • Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Or A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
  • Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
  • Working knowledge of using IT systems.
