Job description

Industrial Temps partner with Royal Mail in looking for Royal Mail Delivery Drivers in the Downpatrick area. As a Postal Delivery Driver, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• You'll start your day in the local delivery office sorting and collecting post/parcels to be delivered.
• You'll be given a hand-held device to capture customer signatures for deliveries. The hand-held will also act as your routing system, telling you where to go to next.
• The role will be physically demanding, where you'll be walking at least 20,000 steps per day. You will also be required to carry a bag that can weigh up to 16kg, delivering letters and parcels, with parcels weighing up to 20kg.
• Driving and on foot delivery will be required, and you will be required to push/pull a trolley during deliveries.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A valid UK driving licence held for at least 1 year with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Time management and organisational skills.
• Safe and responsible driving.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather condition.
• Shifts can vary so applicants must be flexible.

Further Information

Work Time: 30-40 hours per week, 5 days a week including weekends, working hours to be discussed.
