Assistant Principal Officer, Domestic Abuse


Job description

Reporting directly to the Action Plan Lead (Domestic Abuse), the Assistant Principal Officer, Domestic Abuse will provide detailed operational and functional support in the development and delivery of a number of strands relating to Homelessness Policy.

Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Principal Officer (Domestic Abuse) will assist in the delivery of agreed objectives and projects associated with Housing Services work involving Homelessness Policy.
  • Assist with the implementation of any actions required on behalf of the Housing Executive in the delivery of the MARAC Review.
  • Assist with delivery as required of the Housing Executive’s Research Programme in relation any research commissioned on behalf of Homelessness Policy & Strategy.
  • Assist in the drafting of responses, includign recommendations, to any Domestic Homicide Reviews to which the Housing Executive are asked to contribute.
  • Provide a high quality service in relation to responding to queries from operational staff.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Possess a degree level qualification or equivalent professional qualification OR can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning AND at least 2 years’ experience working within a homelessness function.
  • 1 year’s experience of working in a significant housing/homelessness function/service, project/s, contract/s or programme of work, including ensuring effective governance arrangements are developed and maintained.
  • 1 year's experience of providing support and assistance to applicants or tenants experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full including with reasonable travel timeframes.
