Job description

We are seeking an experienced Pre-School Leader to join Causeway Pre-School, Portrush and play a key role in the continued development and growth of our setting. As Pre-School Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the setting, supporting high-quality early years provision and creating a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for every child. The role is central to maintaining high standards of care and education in line with statutory guidance and best practice. The role is subject to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) Pre-school Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and the Statutory Framework for Pre-school Education (N. Ireland) 2016.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Pre-school team to deliver high quality early learning experiences.
• Plan, implement and evaluate a curriculum that supports each child's development.
• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are fully implemented and maintained.
• Oversee staff performance, training and professional development.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Foster positive relationships with parents/carers and encourage family involvement.
• Manage resources effectively and maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
• Promote inclusion, equality and diversity in all aspects of pre-school life.
• Work collaboratively with the pre-school committee to support the strategic direction and sustainability of the setting.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• One of: BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies; degree in Early Years (EY)/Playwork; QCF level 5 in CCLD (or working towards, with min NVQ level 3); QCF Level 5 in Playwork
• OR relevant qualification in early years, social work, nursing, teaching or health visiting AND 2 years' experience in a play, education or day care setting.
• Minimum 2 years' experience working with children in an early years setting.
• Up to date Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Health & Safety training (or undertake to complete asap)

Desirable Skills

• Experience managing an early years setting.
• Experience in observation and record keeping.
