Principal Planning Officer


Job description

We are recruiting for a Principal Planning Officer. Direct management of the day-to-day provision of a core function within the Planning Department, to meet the Council’s statutory obligations and Performance Targets outlined in the annual Planning Department.

Responsibilities

  • To be responsible to the Planning Service Lead for the management and delivery of an efficient, effective and quality driven Planning Department.
  • Responsible to the Planning Service Lead in fulfilling the Council’s statutory duties.
  • Responsible to the Planning Service Lead of assigned staff and supervision of core activities within the Planning Department.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Hold a third level recognised planning qualification or recognised post graduate planning qualification.
  • Possess the right to work in Northern Ireland at the time of application.
