Job description

We are looking for a Shop Manager to lead our Coleraine shop. As Shop Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the shop, maximising sales, managing staff and volunteers. This is a practical, hands-on role involving the regular handling, sorting and preparation of donated goods, including frequent lifting, and carrying and steaming of clothing as part of day-to-day shop operations. Responsibilities

• Driving sales through excellent merchandising and promotion of donated goods.
• Managing and supporting a team of staff and volunteers.
• Building relationships within the local community to encourage donations and support.
• Ensuring the shop operates efficiently, safely, and in line with charity policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Two plus years retail experience in a supervisory and management capacity within the clothing or houseware market.
• Experience of sales floor merchandising and stock display.
• Experience in the training and development of others.
• Four GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at Grades A-C (or equivalent qualifications) and basic IT skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience of working in and operational understanding of the culture within the charity shops sector including an awareness of Gift Aid.
• Knowledge of the laws relating to charitable trading.
• Experience in dealing with environmental health and trading standards officers.
