Job Role: Personal Care Assistant Location: Newtownabbey Hours: 5 hours per week 1 hour each morning, Monday to Friday Rate of Pay: £15.15 per hour Job Type: Part-time Driver: Full driving licence and access to own car essential We are looking for a Personal Care Assistant and Befriender to provide regular one-to-one support and companionship to a young woman living with mental health difficulties. The individual must be available to work one hour each morning, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

• Providing companionship and positive support.
• Offering encouragement and prompting to help with daily routines and activities.
• Supporting with household tasks.
• Assisting with grocery shopping and other essential errands.
• Helping with meal preparation.
• Providing assistance and support with personal care.
• Supporting with everyday life administration and practical tasks.
• Providing reassurance and support when required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Communication skills to build trusting relationships.
• Positive and encouraging in their approach.
• Respectful of privacy, dignity and personal boundaries.
• Ability to use initiative while also following agreed instructions and routines.
• Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business use.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in care, support work, mental health or befriending.
