Job description

Area Youth Worker - Tullyally and Currynierin. The Area Worker will manage, deliver, and strategically develop Londonderry YMCA’s youth programme, providing a diverse range of generic and targeted youth work opportunities that respond to young people's needs and interests. The postholder will maximise the effective use of both centres, ensuring youth work provision is accessible, engaging and delivered in line with the organisation’s policies, procedures and objectives. Responsibilities

• Managing and developing a range of services within the designated area.
• Developing staff and facilities at Londonderry YMCA Ltd.
• Working with agencies to develop services across the community.
• Leading project development and implementation within Londonderry YMCA Ltd.
• Management responsibility for project staff.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Candidates can demonstrate their experience by one of the two available options as of the closing date:
• Have completed, or be working towards completion of, a relevant degree in youth work, community work, education, social work, Or can demonstrate an equivalent qualification.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in the design and delivery of Youth Work development programmes.
• Experience in managing Youth Workers in a Youth Centre or Youth Project.

Further Information

Work Time: 10 flexible sessions, which will include a 4 evenings, to be confirmed.
