Job description

To deliver prompt and professional guest service across the hotel bar, lounge, or function areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, accurate order-taking, and safe alcohol service.

Responsibilities

• Check identification for age-restricted drinks, monitor guest sobriety, and adhere to local licensing, hygiene, and fire safety laws.
• Clear empty glasses and plates, wipe down tables and the bar counter continuously (clean-as-you-go), and reset areas for incoming guests.
• Restock fridges, ice wells, glassware, and dry goods; change beer kegs or replenish cellar stock as needed.
• Prepare and pour alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to specification, run food or drink orders to tables, and check back with guests.
• Process cash, card, and room-charge transactions accurately through the electronic point-of-sale system.
• Assist with private functions, events, room service, or porter duties when required by hotel management.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long shift durations and carry trays of drinks or plates.
• Availability to work flexible part-time hours, including late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Valid legal authorization to work in the region (e.g., UK/ROI).
• Fluent in English to follow Health & Safety guidelines.

Desirable Skills

• Previous bar, waiting, or customer service experience is preferred, though full training is frequently provided by hotels.
