Job description

Industrial Temps are working in partnership with Royal Mail, the UK's designated Universal Postal Service Provider, to recruit HGV Class 1 Drivers based at their busy Newtownabbey Distribution Centre. As an HGV Driver, following a successful assessment, your main responsibility will be to transport parcels and mail between depots within the Royal Mail Network. The role involves minimal manual handling, with shifts scheduled a week in advance.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport parcels and mail between Royal Mail depots.
• Ensure the HGV Class 1 vehicle is in good condition and complete pre-shift checks.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain communication with dispatch and colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• UK-issued Class 1 (CE) licence held for at least 12 months.
• At least 180 days / 12 months HGV1 experience within the past year.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card with recorded data.
• Night and weekend availability.

Further Information
